The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open is set to make a spectacular return for its third edition in 2025. Presented by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), this prestigious Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tournament will take place from February 1 to February 8, 2025, at the International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City.
The 2025 edition will feature 28 elite singles players and 16 top doubles teams, with fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of some of the world's best athletes. Following the success of the 2024 event, which saw Grand Slam champion Elena Rybakina claim the singles title and the duo Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Sofia Kenin triumph in doubles, the upcoming edition promises another stellar lineup. This year's tournament boasted eight of the top 20 WTA players, and next year’s event is expected to deliver the same high level of competition.
His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of ADSC, emphasized, "We are building on the success of the previous editions. This championship showcases our commitment to making Abu Dhabi a hub for world-class events. Supported by the confidence of global sports organizations and the city’s outstanding infrastructure, we continue to attract top athletes from around the globe.”
Mubadala Investment Company’s Deputy Group CEO, Homaid Al Shimmari, added, “The third Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open promises to deliver an unparalleled experience, celebrating the very best of women’s tennis. Our partnership in this event reinforces our mission to support the growth of professional women's tennis, increase Abu Dhabi’s global prominence, and create engaging sports experiences."
WTA CEO Portia Archer expressed her enthusiasm: “We’re thrilled to welcome the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open back for 2025. The tournament’s excellent organization and passionate fanbase make it a favorite for WTA players, who love Abu Dhabi’s warm hospitality and vibrant atmosphere.”
In addition to high-octane matches, the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open extends its impact with initiatives such as the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open Schools Program, which engaged over 10,000 children in 2024. The event also showcased the role of Emirati women in sports through their participation in various key positions.
Off the court, fans can explore the Fan Village, offering meet-and-greet opportunities with players, fun family entertainment, exclusive competitions, and diverse food options. Tickets for the first five days are free for kids, while adult prices start at AED 25, making it an affordable outing for tennis enthusiasts.
